I have a 2.5 year old female dog (spayed). We adopted her at 8 months old. She had some major housetraining issues, and it took us almost 3 months before she was reliably housetrained. She was and is crate trained and never had accidents in the crate. Despite frequent potty breaks she would pee inside frequently. She went on our bed and couch multiple times. She has been reliable for well over a year now.

Last week we adopted a 4 month old male puppy (neutered). Since he is a puppy we are having fairly normal housetraining issues with him. However, today I believe our older dog urinated on our bed two different times. I think it was her because it was large volume (the puppy's bladder is small and we take him out at least every 2 hours so there can't be large accidents when they happen). His accidents have also been happening in a fairly small area (hallway). Being that her previous spot was the bed I'm pretty sure it is her. Any ideas on how to correct this?

She has seemed to adjust pretty well to the puppy otherwise. He is a male, but is (at this point anyway) allowing her to be the dog alpha and doesn't appear to be challenging her. They play frequently and the only growls I have heard were over food (they are now both fed in their crates until both bowls are empty and treats are given under close supervision). They snuggle together during naps.

I'm moving in with my fiance to a "no pets" co-op. I have a 6 year old choc. lab. Our only option is for her parents to take my dog in. But they have a very big, very hyper, year old labradoddle and a family of their own. How to I make this transition for my future family and the dogs as smooth as possible?

2 things you need to know:
I love my dog to death and feel extreme guilt giving him to my future in-laws.

When my fiance and I get a house, my choc. lab is coming back with us.

Please help...thank you in advance

My household consists of 4 teenage boys, 2 parents, an 11 yr old neutered male German Shepard, and a 6 yr old spayed female Rottie. About 6 months ago we adopted an 11 month old Old English bulldog and had him neutered immediately. Niko, my senior guy is a gentle, accepting dog, Bella, the Rottie tends to be a bully, but there were no problems before Diesel, the young Old English bulldog arrived. Now, Bella has begun to attack Niko, on 2 occasions resulting in puncture wounds and veterinary care. I am working w/ a dog behavior trainer + keep the dogs separated at all times. Bella shows NO other signs of aggression with people or with Diesel, only with Niko, the older, weaker dog. Any suggestions?

We've brought a new male german shepherd 8-week old puppy into our home. We have two dogs, one a female shepherd/shibu ina mix (we think) and the other a male schnoodle. We've never had any problems with either of them. Everything is going well but last night the female was laying on my daughters bed and when she went to move her the dog gave her a gutteral growl. She's never been the least bit aggressive toward anyone in the family before. I (as the alpaha) went over and moved the dog and put her to the floor. At that point I roller her on her back and had all my kids come over and rub her belly. Do you think this is a sign of the female trying to readjust her place in the pack or a bit of "jealousy" over the new dog?

We've dogsat a Welsh Terrier several times and will be doing so again in a couple of weeks, she'll be with us for 10 days. Until 2 weeks ago we have been dogless for a year and a half. 2 weeks ago we adopted/rescued 2 miniature dachshunds. Do you have ideas about how best to introduce everybody to each other?
thanks!

Hello!
I have a 10 year old Patterdale terrier (Shadow), and for the past two years he has lived by himself with my husband and I. He has previously lived with my Mom's Jack Russell, and he did fine.

When we take Shadow on walks he is somewhat aggressive towards other dogs, but off of leash he seems to do much better. He has made friends previousley, and does fine with those dogs.

We recently adopted a 16 month old Patterdale, and at times they are fine together but at times Shadow gets really aggressive towards her. I think a lot of it is jealousy. What can I do?
